A TIME TO DIE

Introduction

The Shepherd Poet King:

Even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will not be afraid of any danger, because you are with me.
Your goodness and mercy will be with me all my life,
and

I will live in God’s house forever.

The Preacher:

There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time.

There is a time to be born

and a time to die.

There is a time to plant

and a time to pull up plants.

There is a time to kill

and a time to heal.

There is a time to destroy

and a time to build.

There is a time to cry

and a time to laugh.

There is a time to be sad

and a time to dance with joy.

There is a time to throw weapons down

and a time to pick them up.

There is a time to hug someone

and a time to stop holding so tightly.

There is a time to look for something

and a time to consider it lost.

There is a time to keep things

and a time to throw things away.

There is a time to tear cloth

and a time to sew it.

There is a time to be silent

and a time to speak.

There is a time to love

and a time to hate.

There is a time for war

and a time for peace.

Paul, the Apostle

…for me, to live is Christ,
to die is gain.

I want to know Christ
 and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.
I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,
so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

John the Evangelist Prophet

1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people.

God himself will be with them.a 4

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be
no more death
or sorrow
or crying
or pain.

 All these things are gone forever.”

5And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

8“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.
